Members and guests of Inverness Rowing Club gathered together last Saturday morning to witness the formal naming of their new Stampfli quadruple scull/coxless four.

The boat was acquired with the support of two significant contributions, one being a legacy from the estate of the club's late Honorary President John Stevenson and another of £9995 from ' Awards for All '.

Pamela Turner, a close relative of the late Honorary President was joined by club member Mandy Towrie in revealing the boat's name - John A Stevenson - in recognition of John's loyal, generous and longstanding support for the Inverness club over many years.

Pictures of Pamela Turner and Mandy Towrie christening the new boat after revealing its name, and pictures of the assembled company who witnessed the boat naming are in the Gallery .
