Crews from Inverness Rowing Club travel to Strathclyde Park near Hamilton to take part in this weekend's two day Scottish Championships and Scottish Schools Championships Regatta.

Inverness oarsmen and women have entered a wide variety of events including Junior, Schoolboy and Veteran single sculls, Novice and Veteran Double Sculls, Novice Coxed Fours, and Veteran Quadruple Sculls at this most important main season regatta of 2005.

Last weekend, Inverness member Alan Sinclair was the stroke man of the Aberdeen Boat Club's coxed and coxless fours which took part in the Metropolitan Regatta on the proposed 2012 Olympic rowing course at Dorney Lake near London. Against strong opposition from English clubs, fine performances were recorded in both categories of event with silver and bronze medal positions in Senior 2 and Senior 1 coxed four events respectively on the Saturday and a silver medal position in the Senior 1 coxless four event on the Sunday, just missing the top spot by a mere 0.7 of a second.
