Main Season Racing

posted by Roy R Sinclair - 12 Apr 2004

The main Scottish regatta season starts this weekend when the two day North-East regatta is held on the River Dee on 17th and 18th April.

This event normally attracts a good entry with clubs from Edinburgh, Glasgow and the central belt competing for honours against the strong entries traditionally submitted by the significant memberships of the Aberdeen clubs and from Inverness Rowing Club.

The Inverness entry is somewhat smaller than last year, but nevertheless of high calibre. Current Scottish Champions Tom Baker and Brian Bell compete in Restricted 1 and Veteran Coxless Pairs with the new Sinclair combination of Colin and his father taking part in Generation and Restricted 2 Double Sculls with the elder sculler also taking part in Veteran Single Sculls.
